Chair Massage

A Chair Massage is by far the most convenient massage therapy out there. A session runs from 10 to 15 minutes and is done while fully clothed. Chair massage promotes better circulation and muscle stimulation in key areas of the body. This form of massage reduces tension in the back, neck, shoulders and arms; thus providing deep relaxation. A swift chair massage revitalizes your anatomy and encourages overall well being.

Benefits

On-site chair massage helps bring relief to symptoms, such as headaches and low energy levels, related to stress. When neck and shoulder muscles are strained, a reduction in blood flow to the brain occurs, less oxygen is produced and lethargy is heightened.

With the aid of massage, blood flow is increased, headaches may be alleviated and the client is able to pay more attention to tasks at hand. This increased circulation, also, provides the additional benefit of detoxification, therefore producing a stronger immune system.

In the time it takes to have a coffee break, you can have a quick and relaxing chair massage. Listed below are some of the benefits to experiencing this type of massage therapy:

  • improved circulation
  • lower blood pressure
  • improved concentration
  • sense of well being
  • strengthened immune system
  • muscle tension relief
  • increased energy level
  • short, convenient and cost-effective sessions

Testimonials

"Wondering how to make a conference memorable for 75 people of various professional backgrounds from all over Canada?

A few years ago I faced that challenge and of course every detail of the agenda, the venue, and the menu was carefully considered, but something more was needed. That's when I consulted with Pierre Langlois to see what he could offer. Pierre and his team set up seated chair massages in the back of our conference room for 2 full days of our conference, ensuring sufficient time for each participant to have an opportunity to enjoy a seated chair massage. The feedback from our participants about their massage was tremendous. Pierre and his team were commended by all involved for their professional services."

"After being to a few spas and massage therapists, I can say that Pierre's massages are the best I've ever had. I love the comforting atmosphere he creates with music and the smell of essential oils. I absolutely recommend Pierre's Lymphatic Drainage Massages; he is the best!"

Irania Ledesma

"I began monthly sessions with Pierre about three years ago. The massage provides me with a much needed vehicle to reduce the affects of stress; I work about seventy hours a week. The session begins with a thorough consultation. Gleaming material from such, a combination of aromas and scents are applied during the massage. The massage is wonderful, as so is the ambience of the room, and the music in the background. Pierre has an after-session chat with you before you are sent on your way."

FAQS

What is the Lymphatic System?
The Lymphatic system is made up of lymph, lymph vessels, a series of small masses of lymphoid tissue called lymph nodes situated throughout the body, the spleen and the thymus gland.

What is the function of the Lymph system?
The lymphatic system plays a vital role in your body's ability to heal from injury and ward off disease. It is essential to the body's drainage system for cleansing and filtering out toxins.

How do I know if I have problems with my Lymphatic System?
If you suffer or experience: frequent cold and flu infections, aches, pains, joint pain, headaches and migraines, menstrual cramps, arthritis, loss of appetite, fatigue, mood irregularities, depression, acne, cellulite...your lymph pathways may be congested.

What can I expect to feel after a Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
Although everyone's experience is different, most people report feeling extremely relaxed afterwards and greatly revitalized after a night's sleep.

What are Essential Oils?
Essential Oils are concentrated liquids distilled from plants. They contain the regenerating, oxygenating and immune defense properties of the plants they were extracted from.

When inhaled or applied topically to the body essential oils can have anti-bacterial, -fungal, -viral, -inflammatory, and -septic properties. They can even provide aid with respiratory problems, detoxification, sleeping, hormonal balance, circulation and strengthening of the immune system.

What should I wear to my massage?
You will be encouraged to wait a number of hours before washing off the essential oils in order to give the body time to absorb the oils. It is suggested that you wear casual clothing.

What should I do after a Lymphatic Massage?
As with any other form of massage, it is recommended you drink 6-8 glasses of water during the 24-hour period after your massage. This will help flush any toxins that would have been released.

Who can benefit from having a Lymphatic Massage?
Everyone! Increased lymph flow removes harmful substances from the tissues and increases immune function.

Contraindications

For the most part lymphatic massage is safe. However, as with all massage therapies there are some contra indications. For lymphatic massage specifically, these include severe edema, acute inflammation, malignant tumors, lymph cancers, thrombosis and phlebitis (blood clots or other vascular diseases), major heart problems, skin infections, bacterial or viral infection (can lead to blood poisoning), or any infectious bone disease.

Testimonials

"I have had 2 Reiki sessions from Pierre and both times I have had a great experience. Pierre has a wonderful healing energy I have never experienced before. His treatment room was extremely welcoming, comfortable and radiated great warmth...Thanks so much Pierre".

Farida Hasin-Shakoor

"For a person who can be quite uptight and easily stressed, Reiki was a beautiful addition into my health regime. For my initial session, I didn't know what to expect. Seeing that everyone's experience is so unique, all you can do is dive in and trust that your body will take what it needs from the session. I was quite nervous but that didn't last long; I entered Pierre's tranquil treatment room, listened to soothing music and just let myself be. For me, the treatment brought up memories of loved ones who have since passed and the need to really talk of their passing. I also experienced a lot of tingling in my legs that made them twitch a great deal. Once the treatment had ended, there was a feeling of release and relief. I left feeling relaxed and ready to sleep. I now consider Reiki an essential component to my overall well-being."

FAQS

How long does as session last?
A standard session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.

Where does Reiki energy come from?
Unlike electrical, chemical or other kinds of physical energy, Reiki energy is subtle. It comes from a greater power that exists on a higher dimension compared to the physical world we are familiar with. It is a pure healing energy that flows from the practitioner's hands into the client. It is meant to bring harmony and balance to everyday life.

How is a Reiki treatment given?
Standard treatments are given on a massage table while the client is fully clothed. A series of hand positions are used on or near the body without rubbing or exerting undue pressure. These include hand positions around the head, shoulders, stomach, arms, hands, legs and feet. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. This treatment can also be performed on the client while seated or even standing.

What does a Reiki treatment feel like?
What one experiences during a Reiki treatment varies from person to person. This energy may manifest itself in the following ways: heat, coldness, electrical tingling, relaxation, sleepiness, muscle twitching or a feeling of a breeze on the body. You may also experience unusual colours, sounds, smells or some sensation from one of your other senses. You may not feel anything at all, but this does not mean that Reiki is not working. It is not important to understand what each experience means, just to accept it as part of the experience. At the end of the treatment, one, usually, feels refreshed and has a more positive, balanced outlook.

Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor or psychologist in order to receive a Reiki treatment?
Instead of conflicting with other forms of health care, Reiki enhances them. The energy works in conjunction with regular medical or psychological treatment. If one has a medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that one see a licensed health care professional in addition to receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care or any other method of alternative care.

What type of clothing should I wear to my treatment?
Loose fitting clothing.

Is Reiki safe?
Reiki is a beautiful healing energy that brings things into balance on all levels. The energy works only for the highest good of each person and cannot cause harm. It is safe for anyone and for almost any situations including pregnant women and children.

How many sessions will I need?
Reiki gently supports the body's natural healing ability and accelerates the healing process. The effects of Reiki usually build up cumulatively. The number of sessions would depend on your needs. Acute problems often respond quickly to the energy, while chronic problems may need more intensive treatment over a period of time in order to be resolved.

Contraindications

Reiki is a very safe and gentle healing system. In itself it is always safe. As with any complementary therapy, there are a few contraindications.

Conditions:

  • People on pacemakers
  • Undiagnosed pains
  • Schizophrenia

Medications:

  • Insulin-dependent diabetics
  • People with hypocortisolism, Epilepsy, or thyroid issues
